Aims
This major aims to provide students with:
- A broad understanding of criminological theory and its application in Criminal Justice contexts
- The opportunity to develop the aptitude to apply criminological knowledge in educational and professional settings
- The opportunity to develop the ability to communicate effectively in a range of justice-related contexts
- The opportunity to develop the skill to work independently and collaboratively in an array of projects of criminological significance
- An appreciation of the ways that ethical behaviour improves justice outcomes
Learning outcomes
On completion students will be able to:

Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of both classic and contemporary criminological theories
2.
Demonstrate a nuanced understanding of the ways that criminal justice systems function to deliver justice both in Australia and abroad
3.
Demonstrate the aptitude to apply criminological knowledge in educational and professional settings
4.
Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in a range of justice-related contexts
5.
Demonstrate the skill to work independently and collaboratively in an array of projects of criminological significance

Demonstrate an appreciation of the ways that ethical behaviour improves justice outcomes

Demonstrate the ability to connect across boundaries having been exposed to International perspectives, case studies and examples in the curriculum
