Aims

The honours program in Philosophy aims to provide students with the opportunity to develop an extended understanding of a range of areas of philosophy including epistemology, metaphysics and ethics, while extending students' understanding of significant philosophical arguments and research methods and providing students with skills in research, writing and publication.

Learning outcomes

On completion students will be able to:
1.
Debate various theories, factual content and research procedures in a range of philosophical areas, including epistemology, metaphysics and ethics
2.
Analyse and critically evaluate ideas and concepts in philosophy at an advanced level
3.
Communicate their research both orally and in writing, which may include interpreting and applying ethical considerations
4.
Undertake independent research at an advanced level and in a timely manner
