Aims

The minor aims to:

  • Equip students with a grounding in the major content and concerns of literature and writing practice throughout the epochs
  • Furnish students with the skills required to apply their learning in educational and professional settings
  • Develop the ability to communicate effectively in a range of mediums and analyse critically different texts in a range of situations and contexts
  • Encourage students to connect across boundaries and value ethical behaviour through the study of literature and the praxis of creative writing

Learning outcomes

On completion students will be able to:

Apply their transferable skills, including critical analysis, independent research, effective communication, and logical argumentation
2.
Analyse literature and creative writing throughout the epochs
3.
Synthesise textual evidence with scholarly research and theoretical perspectives in constructing logical arguments
