Aims

The major aims to:

  • Interrogate the relationship between individual agency and social structures in shaping people’s experiences and life chances and the societies within which they live
  • Evaluate and apply sociological data, concepts and theories as tools for exploring diverse experiences of the social world
  • Explore processes of change and continuity in historical and contemporary societies

Learning outcomes

On completion students will be able to:

Produce sociologically informed interpretations of key social challenges and changes

Apply diverse data, concepts and theories to historical and contemporary social contexts
