Admission requirements

Admission requirements

Students will initially apply for admission through Nankai University. Applicants must complete a competitive entrance examination administered by Nankai University, for which Flinders University awards 18 units of unspecified credit.

Applicants must hold a bachelor degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution. Graduates with a three year degree must satisfy additional requirements which may be one of the following:

A minimum three years of work experience
A record of academic publication
Satisfactory grades in core undergraduate topics or relevant graduate topics

A further 18 units of specified credit may be granted for topics offered by Nankai University, please refer to program of study below.

Aims

The course specialisation is designed to provide a specialised postgraduate program in International Relations for suitably qualified graduates; appropriate professional education for current or prospective employees working in the areas of foreign affairs, defence, international trade and related areas; advanced grounding in the academic debates and research literatures in the field of International Relations and cognate subjects for students who intend to pursue doctoral studies and an academic career.
