The Bachelor of Science (Honours) (Biotechnology) is an undergraduate degree, taught in English, and is four years of full-time study or the equivalent part-time.

Graduates have developed a comprehensive knowledge and practical experience in biotechnology. They have an awareness of professional practice within the interdisciplinary, global biotechnology industry and the ability to contribute to the development of scientifically sound, ethical and culturally sensitive solutions to complex problems for the economic and social benefit of society. In addition to the science of biotechnology, studies have also focussed on the legal, social, economic and ethical aspects of biotechnology and engineering, management and entrepreneurial activities needed to bring products to market. Graduates have completed advanced topics and an Honours research project.

Students are admitted to Flinders University on the basis of their performance in either Year 12 Studies (or international equivalents), previous Higher Education studies, completed TAFE/Vocational qualifications, Foundation Studies programs or Scholastic Assessment tests.
