Aims
The course has been designed to provide or build upon the skills acquired in a relevant Bachelor's degree and specifically provide graduates of engineering, computing and design science awards with:
- An understanding of the theory and practice of design and product development
- An understanding of the theory and practice of design and process innovation and how it applies to one's chosen field of study
- An understanding of User Experience (UX) research framed within a Human Centred Design approach
- A sound understanding of a science, engineering and computing science, along with human factors and ergonomics
- A commitment of purpose to initiate sustainable manufacturing decisions within a Circular Economy approach
- An ability to apply existing knowledge to contribute to innovation and entrepreneurship within organisations
- An ability to carry out management decision tasks within a science or engineering-based enterprise
- An ability to understand a typical science and engineering corporate structure including its operation, management responsibilities and business success metrics
