A nationally accredited qualification in counselling that prepares graduates to deliver integrated behavioural health approaches across diverse practice sectors for individuals, groups and priority populations. Graduates gain in-depth knowledge of contemporary therapeutic approaches and undertake supervised industry placements.

Aims
The course aims to:
- Attain comprehensive knowledge of socio-ecological perspectives and evidence-based therapeutic approaches for whole of person health with a focus on priority populations
- Contribute meaningfully to an evolving and changing model of health care both nationally and internationally
- Promote transdisciplinary collaborative practices in the implementation of evidence-based behavioural health approaches
- Establish meaningful relationships with people and their informal and formal networks to guide care and support
Learning outcomes
On completion of the course you will be able to:

Practice as a proficient and competent counsellor or psychotherapist using integrated and transdiagnostic therapeutic approaches

Student progression rules
The award of a grade of fail (F) on more than one occasion in the same topic, may constitute prima facie evidence of unsatisfactory progress for the purposes of the University's Policy on Student Progress. Except with the permission of the Dean (Education), the course must be completed in no more than eight consecutive semesters.
Enrolment in on-campus availabilities for MHSC coded topics is a requirement of accreditation standards.
