The Master of Engineering Science (Mechanical) is a postgraduate award, taught in English, and is two years of full-time study, or the equivalent part-time.

Graduates have the skills and knowledge required for the systematic development of solutions to complex mechanical engineering problems that are appropriate to the industrial, economic, environmental, social, and international contexts in which they are applied. They have demonstrated their understanding by undertaking a Research project and can communicate effectively with other science and engineering professionals and the wider global community using a broad range of communication technologies.

Students are admitted to Flinders University on the basis of the completion of a recognised degree or its equivalent. Relevant professional work experience may also be required in specified course.
