To qualify for the Bachelor of Arts, a student must complete 108 units with a grade of P or NGP or better in each topic, according to the program of study below.

Not all topics are necessarily available each year.

No more than 45 units of level 1 topics and no less than 27 units of level 3 topics may be included in the 108 units for the degree.

Upon completion of 36 or 72 units a student may choose to exit with a Diploma in Arts or an Associate Degree in Arts respectively, subject to meeting the program of study for that award.

1. This Program of Study serves as a suggested study plan. When core topics are offered in both halves of the year, students may enrol in these topics in either half of the year as long as requisites are met.
2. Students will be expected to declare their majors or their major and minor sequence(s) at the completion of 36 units.
3. University accredited languages, taken through cross-institutional studies, including those offered by the University of Adelaide and the University of South Australia, are also available as majors in the Flinders Bachelor of Arts.
4. Students completing the extended major are eligible to apply for an Honours program in Psychology. Students undertaking the extended major should reduce the value of Elective topics by 13.5 units.
5. Students can complete a minor sequence in Sciences by choosing topics from the generic Sciences Minor as long as requisites are met. However, they are recommended to select one of five specific Sciences Minors - Biology/ Environment/ Environmental Science (Hydrology and Water Resources)/ Environmental Science (Coastal and Marine Studies)/ Geography provided to assist students with topic choice.

International Student English Language Requirements

The Major in Psychology (Extended Major) is accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council. Graduates are eligible to apply for Honours in psychology or the Graduate Diploma in Psychology (Advanced). In order to become a psychologist, graduates must then complete two further years of further study/training, for example, a 2-year Master of Psychology, a 1-year Master of Professional Psychology plus internship.
