Aims

This topic aims to provide students with an understanding of the importance of financial information in business practice. The topic includes introductory financial accounting, introductory management accounting, financial statement interpretation and analysis, and budgeting.

Learning outcomes

On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

Demonstrate a basic understanding of the measurement and reporting of the financial position, financial performance and cash flows of an entity and how this information is reported to external users
2.
Analyse and interpret information contained in the financial statements
3.
Demonstrate basic knowledge of techniques used for internal management processes, including budgeting, cost analysis and working capital management
