This topic introduces students to areas of human learning that will provide the underpinnings of effective behaviour support. The following areas will be covered: sensory perception; memory; an introduction to learning theories and principles, including reinforcement and motivation; behavioural, cognitive-behavioural, and cognitive influences on the learning process and subsequent behaviour support. The content is set within the context of working with people with disabilities and learning is related to philosophies and principles within the disability field.
