Aims
This topic aims to:
- Extend pre-service teacher confidence, knowledge and skills in technology learning and teaching
- Enable pre-service teachers to develop an appropriate integrated program in multiliteracies, numeracy, technologies and design for children aged birth-8 years
- Enhance pre-service teachers' personal approach to technologies teaching, based on their critical analysis of research and practical experiences. This analysis will draw on theoretical, Indigenous and cultural perspectives that have culturally and historically shaped civilization’s technological endeavours
Learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

Apply critical self-knowledge that will form the foundation for their expert judgement when teaching Technologies
2.
Critically analyse, adjust and document their teaching practice in response to an evolving body of research in numeracy, multimodal literacies and technologies teaching and learning
3.
Demonstrate an advanced capacity to plan, analyse and implement a range of approaches to numeracy, literacies and technologies, including play-based pedagogies
4.
Critique teaching and learning resources and synthesise their understandings of the relationship between play, teaching, learning and assessment to generate effective learning across numeracy, multimodal literacies and technologies
