This topic examines applied exercise science relevant to physical educators. Students will undertake an in-depth analysis of a sport or recreation activity using motion analysis software and critically review literature relevant to physical activity epidemiology.

Aims
Students will be provided with the opportunity to:
- Examine a sport or recreational activity from a variety of exercise science perspectives (i.e. exercise physiology, biomechanics, skill analysis)
- Explore motion analysis software and its application in physical education settings
- Provide students with an opportunity to review current literature in an area of interest related to physical activity epidemiology
Learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

Develop a digital portfolio of a sport or recreational activity suitable for use as secondary physical education teacher resource

Use motion analysis software proficiently
3.
Critically review literature within the exercise science field
