Aims

This topic aims to:

  • Develop students' communication skills to interact with a high level of written and oral Indonesian
  • Enable students to investigate a particular issue, aspect, or interest related to contemporary Indonesia through using authentic Indonesian language resources
  • Promote an intercultural language perspective on interacting in Indonesian, including students reflecting on their own language use
  • Develop students' skills in critical thinking, analysis and reporting through sourcing, analysing and synthesising materials including relevant readings

Learning outcomes

On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

Discuss key socio-cultural aspects specific to Indonesian societies
2.
Evaluate topic contents through the analysis of authentic linguistic and audio-visual texts, in Indonesian
3.
Articulate socio-cultural themes and issues specific to Indonesian societies, both verbally and in writing, to a range of audiences
