Aims

This topic aims to:

  • Develop learners' knowledge and ability to use complex grammatical structures and vocabulary in Modern Greek
  • Enhance the students' communicative competence through participation in activities involving exposure to different kinds of media and group or pair interaction
  • Expose students to independent and collaborative learning and to language learning skill development

Learning outcomes

On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

Critically interpret authentic written texts and spoken passages in Modern Greek, of different language varieties and registers
2.
Use articulated Modern Greek to communicate autonomously and proficiently in speech and in writing, in a range of different registers
3.
Produce a range of nuanced grammatical and lexical elements in Modern Greek
4.
Critique specific aspects of Greek culture, as they are expressed through language: news, health, etc.
