Aims
This topic aims to:
- Provide students with an introduction to the broad field of human development
- Provide an enhanced appreciation of some of developmental changes, some of the key theories about human development, and the special ethical considerations involved in research on human development
- Provide students with hands-on experience to improve their skills in collecting systematic information about human development and in analysing and interpreting this information
Learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

Demonstrate a critical understanding of theories of human development and their real-world applications
2.
Identify and critically reflect on biopsychosocial factors that influence development across the lifespan, with consideration of individual and cultural diversity
3.
Identify and critically reflect on various domains of development and ageing (e.g., motor, language, emotional, cognitive development) in writing and group discussion
