Aims
The Work experience topic complements the students' main academic programs, and provides them with a practical opportunity to put their studies into context. Students will be able to appreciate and consolidate theory underpining the practice to which they are exposed. They will need to evaluate these theories as wlll as how they are being implemented. The importance of the scientist practitioner model should be clearly understood.

On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

Apply skills and knowledge already acquired in their course

Appreciate the responsibilities, roles, attitudes, values, priorities, judgement and work methods of psychology and practitioners in industry

Appreciate the overall manner in which psychology is practised

Participate as a member of a team, and understand the roles and value of all members of that team, including other professionals involved in the field and support staff

Further develop their own professional attitudes, and reconcile the obligations, responsibilities and actions of practitioners with their own values
