Aims

The topic aims to:

  • Provide students with practical knowledge and skills to operate professionally within the tourism and events industry
  • Introduce students to concepts of cross-cultural communication, reflective practice, problem solving and critical analysis in tourism industry contexts
  • Assist students to identify graduation pathways using content that is applied, practical and aimed and preparing students for entry into the professional work environment
  • Introduce students to principles and practices related to ethics, and quantitative evaluation in tourism industry research
  • Explain work integrated learning principles and begin preparation for future tourism and events industry placements
