  • Understand the development, roles and responsibilities of the different institutions of U.S. government, and explain how these institutions work together to govern the nation
  • Understand how the electoral system operates in the U.S. compared to other industrialised democracies and how its system affects politics and policymaking
  • Examine the role of institutions, ideology, participation and special interests in politics and describe their importance and effects
  • Develop students’ research, writing, analytical, and communication skills
