- An introduction to the major types of pathogens responsible for infectious disease and the process of pathogenesis
- Understanding of the stress response in animals
- An introduction to the natural defence mechanisms in animals (including humans) and the evolution of the immune system
Learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:
1.
Be competent in identifying the major causes of infectious and non-infectious diseases in animals
