Aims
This topic aims to:
- Introduce students to a diverse range of historically and stylistically significant dramatic texts within the context in which they were initially created and presented
- Interrogate and consider the contemporary relevance and meaning of key dramatic texts and theatre movements
- Develop students’ critical thinking skills and the ability to contextualise artistic work
- Develop students' research and writing skills in a variety of forms
- Assist students in the transition to university life by providing opportunities for learning with peers and colleagues
Learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

Apply knowledge of the set texts including their context and significance within the history of drama
2.
Contribute effectively to group discussions and critically analyse key concepts in written and oral forms
