Aims

This topic aims to provide students with the opportunity to explore and learn about:

  • Current research within local, national and international perspectives relating to community development and funding sources
  • Recent social history and benefits of community development in facilitating opportunities for the social inclusion of individuals who are socially isolated, or at risk of social isolation from their communities, including Indigenous communities
  • Role of community development and relevance of participation in community activities of choice and the link to quality of life
  • Principles of identifying and preparing a community development project to create increased opportunities for socially marginalised individuals
  • Principles of preparing a community development project for funding submission
