Students may have the option of completing a 70 hour practicum. Practicums and their assessment are to be organised in consultation with the topic coordinator.

- Promote an awareness of approaches that inform classroom methodology
- Encourage creative planning of classroom learning experiences
- Highlight the relationship between learner motivation and successful learning outcomes
- Encourage critical thinking about methodologies as used in ESOL
- Promote a reflective approach to practice
