Aims
This topic introduces students to the field of digital forensics including the practical aspect of forensic investigation. Aspects to be covered include approaches to digital forensic investigation, the basics of computer, network and mobile device forensics, CCTV imaging and processing, vehicle forensics, UAVs and geospatial analysis. Incident response, evidence acquisition, preserving, analysis, report, and presentation and the legal aspects of digital forensics will also be covered.
Learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

Apply the theoretical foundations and frameworks of digital forensics
2.
Undertake basic digital forensic investigations with due regard to private regulations and public law challenges
3.
Undertake CCTV imaging and processing, vehicle forensics, UAVs and geospatial analysis
4.
Assist in the response to Incidents, as well as evidence acquisition, preservation, analysis, report, and presentation
5.
Evaluate the legal aspects of digital forensics
