Aims
This topic aims to:
- Give students an intense introduction to the sounds, structures and vocabulary of modern standard French
- Expose students to further social and cultural aspects of the French speaking world
- Develop students' writing skills on everyday topics
- Further develop students' language learning skills and strategies
Learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

Identify detailed information from short, simple written texts and spoken passages in French, of different personal and social contexts

Use basic French to produce original texts in speech and in writing, in a greater range of personal and social contexts
3.
Produce an expanded range of basic grammatical and syntactical structures and vocabulary through interpretation in French
4.
Use new and specific features of French culture, as they are expressed through language: celebrations, shopping, travel, gastronomy, etc.
