Aims
This topic aims for students to understand the nexus between Indigenous knowledges and ways of knowing with embodied pedagogical approaches often applied in outdoor learning. Outdoor learning will be utilised to enable students to build an initial competence and confidence for working safely, ethically and responsibly in outdoor environments. Students will be provided the opportunity to:
- Investigate what it means to learn on country and in partnership with First Nations Custodians, Aboriginal Rangers and Community organisations
- Engage with multiple ways of knowing that values social, economic and cultural capital, in places of historical and environmental significance
- Build competence and confidence in applying a variety of technical and essential skills in the outdoors, including reconciliation pedagogies and two way learnings
- Describe value in lived and embodied experiences from diverse perspectives
- Establish a rhythm of reflection and evaluation to embody the actions of reflective practices
