Aims
This topic aims to:
- Introduce the concepts of coaching philosophy, game-based coaching, and athlete centred coaching
- Explore peer reviewed literature specific to coaching philosophy, game-based coaching, and athlete centred coaching
- Support students to learn about the "Spectrum of Coaching Styles"
- Facilitate student engagement with the Spectrum of Coaching Styles in an applied sports coaching setting
Learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of coaching philosophy and pedagogy

Demonstrate an understanding of the Spectrum of Coaching styles by planning and enacting multiple coaching sessions to a variety of audiences, including colleagues, academic staff, and athletes

Critically reflect on personal coaching performance

Work effectively with a partner to enact a coaching session
5.
Demonstrate foundation knowledge of community coaching to create an inclusive, fun, safe and rewarding learning environment for participants
