Aims

In this topic students will begin their journey as outdoor educators and consider their role through both cultural and environmental lenses. As students develop as outdoor educators technically, personally, socially and ethically, they will be provided with the opportunity to:

  • Develop a range of technical and essential skills necessary to safely engage in outdoor expeditions
  • Explore more deeply their own connection to country and make meaning of their own experiences in outdoor environments
  • Engage in partnership with First Nations Custodians, Aboriginal Rangers and Community organisations to demonstrate reconciliation pedagogies when engaging on expeditions
