Aims
This topic aims to:
- Advance students' understanding of sport coaching as an applied science, with a focus on theory and theory informed practice
- Develop mentor training skills in coach development
- Evaluate sports coaching practices in an applied context through evaluative research
Learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:
1.
Evaluate research methods as they relate to sport coaching practices
2.
Undertake self-evaluation techniques and develop technical recording skills to improve coaching performance
3.
Work effectively in small groups in a coaching context
4.
Apply current sport coaching principles in an applied sports context to a variety of audiences, including athletes, colleagues and academic staff
