Aims

Students will:

  • Apply the WHO healthy settings framework to evaluate settings-based initiatives
  • Examine and evaluate a range of actions that seek to promote health for individuals, communities, and global society
  • Acquire a theoretical and practical understanding of key concepts including health literacy, health equity, community partnerships, and health promoting schools

Learning outcomes

On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

Analyse the impact of physical and social environments on health and wellbeing in local and global contexts

Critically evaluate the processes, strengths and challenges associated with the healthy settings approach
3.
Develop strategies to support health literacy across diverse settings
