Aims
This topic aims to:
- Provide a basic understanding of the legal regime governing outer space, including the moon and other celestial bodies;
- Conduct an analysis on recent developments in space law and policy including property rights in space, commercialisation, and space debris;
- Allow to students to understand how to apply space law and policy to real world wicked problems in space regulation and governance.
Learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

Demonstrate knowledge of international space law and policy and accepted norms in space regulations
2.
Recognise ideological and theoretical assumptions underpinning the international regulatory regime and the behaviour of actors in space
3.
Apply these approaches to contemporary policies, case studies and issues facing the space sector
