Overview
This topic introduces foundational ideas involving algebra and functions that underpin undergraduate study in mathematics and science. The core concepts are arranged into four modules covering polynomials, rational functions, exponentials, logarithms and trigonometric functions. These are explored by formulating problems mathematically, graphing, solving equations, and interpreting results, with a focus ā¦ For more content click the Read More button below.

Requisites information
Anti-requisites:
Assumed knowledge
A working knowledge of arithmetic, elementary algebra and geometry, such as would be gained from NMCY1001. This includes familiarity with: arithmetic involving positive and negative numbers; fractions; powers and roots; rearranging equations with unknowns; perimeter and area; Cartesian coordinates; and simple plots.
