Aims

This topic aims to provide the student with background knowledge of the overall medical and /or surgical management of key pathological conditions in the three core areas of physiotherapy practice.

Learning outcomes

On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:
1.
Demonstrate knowledge of pathology, healing and repair in key orthopaedic, rheumatological, cardiorespiratory and neurological conditions
2.
Understand the key signs and symptoms associated with these key conditions
3.
Gain an overview of the general management of these key conditions
4.
Reflect on the role of the physiotherapist within the health care team in relation to simple case management
