As an advanced placement topic, students are expected to manage all aspects of physiotherapy practice at a graduate ready level, with higher level of complexity, independence and decreased supervisor input relative to earlier placement periods. All core physiotherapy clinical practice areas and placement settings are tracked and allocated to ensure competency is developed and demonstrated in each required area and in sufficient breadth of practice in order to meet Australian Physiotherapy Council (APC) accreditation requirements.

Aims

The aim of this “integrated practice” placement topic is to apply and consolidate knowledge and skills gained in the Master of Physiotherapy program to clinical practice.

As an advanced placement topic, the learning outcomes apply to competency developed at a graduate-ready level, in all aspects of the physiotherapy role.

On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

Demonstrate foundational competency as determined by the Assessment of Physiotherapy Practice assessment tool
2.
Demonstrate competency in all aspects of the physiotherapy management of patient/client presentations, with an emphasis on independence in the management of both non-complex and complex components of care
