Aims

Students will develop specialised coherent body of knowledge about professional self-care, vicarious trauma, importance of understanding emotions and boundaries in work contexts, coping, and core elements of supervision for the supervisor and supervisee.  Through the acquisition of contemporary knowledge about supervision/leadership and being trauma responsive the student will learn to analyse and critically evaluate the supervisor-supervisee relationship.  The topic aims to promote professionals who are accountable and confident to survive and thrive in organisational settings and systems responding to trauma and complexity.

Learning outcomes

On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

Critically evaluate contemporary knowledge about vicarious trauma and working in organisations responding to trauma and complexity
2.
Assess individual and organisational service provision in line with contemporary trauma informed theory and practice
3.
Evaluate core elements of supervision/leadership for trauma responsive practice
