Aims
This topic aims to provide students with an insight into how research in planned and executed. Under the direct supervision of an academic staff member, the student will plan and execute an individual research project in an area of science. In addition the students will gain experience in the written and oral communication of their project.
Learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

Have obtained an appreciation of how a research is prepared and conducted

Gained insight of how scientific principles are applied to solve problems

Operate laboratory equipment in a safe and effective manner
