Aims
This topic aims to:
- Provide skills in basic digital design with a focus on both the written and visual aspects of online texts
- Establish an understanding of the importance of file formats, planning, and robust workflows
- Explore basic design concepts
- Address the importance of visual language in all aspects of design
- Demonstrate analysis suitable for various media and to assist students in developing an individual and an appropriate style of their own
Learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

Appraise a range of technical and design options contributing to high quality digital presentation
2.
Create and manipulate original photographic and digital images
3.
Prepare drafts of pre-production documentation to guide digital production including user documentation, scoping documents, site maps, storyboards and non-linear scripts

Integrate the design principles and production processes underlying the combination of text, photographic and drawn images in digital environments
