Aims

This topic aims to offer students an extended knowledge and competence to undertake clinical assessments within a cognitive behaviour framework with emphasis on case conceptualisations and cognitive therapy techniques. The topic covers several areas: cognitive therapy, assessment, case conceptualisations, clinical measures and high intensity CBT models.

Learning outcomes

On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:
1.
Demonstrate competence in undertaking a comprehensive clinical assessment using a cognitive therapy framework
2.
Select and administer measurement tools to guide and inform assessment and treatment options
3.
Provide a cognitive conceptualisation and treatment options using a CBT model
4.
Determine appropriate treatment interventions informed by evidence-based practice guidelines
5.
Apply reflective practice skills to demonstrate fidelity to a CBT competency-based framework
