Aims
This topic aims to provide students with an understanding of the future of work in the digital age. It aims to equip students with the knowledge and capabilities to contribute to the design and management of technological change processes that take account of the human dimensions and potential socio-economic implications of technological and workplace change.
Learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:
1.
Demonstrate a multi-disciplinary understanding of the implication of digitalisation for the future of work, workplaces and society by linking theories and practices from these disciplines
2.
Conceptualise technological change processes within social, political and economic contexts
3.
Have an appreciation of inter- and trans-disciplinary theories of technological change and work
4.
Understand and participate in debates surrounding the fourth industrial revolution and Industry 4.0
5.
Apply tools to assist with the management of workplace and technological change
