Aims

This topic aims to:

  • Introduce preservice teachers to Middle and Secondary school contexts
  • Support preservice teachers’ understanding of embedding ICTs in learning design
  • Develop understanding of the contemporary issues which impact on the work of Middle and Secondary School teachers
  • Prepare preservice teachers with contemporary understandings, knowledge and skills associated with the process of learning design
  • Encourage collaborative approaches to the design and delivery of professional development

Learning outcomes

On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

Express an emerging understanding of the needs of Middle and Secondary school students in their transition from adolescence to young adulthood

Evaluate the contexts of Middle and Secondary schooling in relation to learning design
