Aims
To give students the opportunity to:
- Introduce pre‐service teachers to relevant curriculum frameworks and curriculum development processes for Health and Physical Education
- Enhance pre‐service teachers’ ability to articulate the evidence supporting their practice in Health and Physical Education and the rationale for their approach
- Develop pre‐service teachers’ capacity to deliver meaningful learning experiences in Health and Physical Education
- Critically analyse pedagogical practices in Health and Physical education
Learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

Confidently navigate and interpret curriculum policy and documents, to ensure learning experiences are aligned with relevant curriculum

Translate and organise health and physical education theory, concepts and content into effective learning and teaching experiences in the primary school context

Apply and evaluate a range of pedagogical practices to learning design within health and physical education
