Aims
This topic aims to:
- Make a meaningful contribution to children's learning and the setting's curriculum goals and priorities that draws from contemporary Australian and international research and practice
- Provide students with an understanding of how children learn and develop through research and inquiry that implements research and theoretical knowledge and makes a meaningful contribution to the site and children's learning
- Allow students to evaluate a variety of observation and assessment techniques to gain insight into the types of experiences, activities and ideas that engage young children
- Support students as they analyse, plan, implement, evaluate and document a curriculum that involves and engages children in deep and meaningful learning over an extended period of time
- Support students as they prioritise the importance of families in children's lives and learning and innovate on ways to connect with families and the community
- Help students document and organise evidence of their developing professional knowledge, professional practice and professional relationships in line with the Teaching Performance Assessments
