Aims
This topic aims to:
- Explore design options and technical accuracy in relation to electronic digital presentation of garment design
- Develop the ability for independent learning and critical observation
- Explore issues related to design aesthetics, economics and communication
- Introduce industry requirements for fashion/costume and textile production
Learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:
1.
Display a professional level of industry presentation and currency relating to standard and quality of design work
2.
Demonstrate confidence and proficiency in the use of the design tools
3.
Identify the market prescribed in the employment of digital media strategies
4.
Demonstrate the ability to create artwork for digital textile printing, and fashion/costume garment production purposes, in an Australian or off-shore context
5.
Demonstrate the ability to present design work in a technically accurate and professional manner

Assumed knowledge
Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and CLO3D for commercial trade drawings (flats), pattern fills and repeats, fashion illustration, branding etc. such as can be found in the TAFE component.
