Aims

This topic aims to provide students with the opportunity to:

  • Research fashion garments to observe their fabrication, shape, fitting details and construction
  • Learn pattern making techniques appropriate for chosen fabric and garment
  • Develop skills in the operation and maintenance of sewing machines
  • Develop skills in the construction techniques of components and whole garments
  • Become competent at developing specification sheets for garments
  • Design and produce a garment from a brief
