This topic is the written presentation of the student's research. Included within the Honours Thesis are the literature review, research methods, data and discussion and conclusions surrounding the student's chosen area of research.

Aims

This topic aims to:

  • Understand the significance of a thesis in communicating research outcomes
  • Develop an awareness of the conventions of an academic thesis in conveying academic research
  • Provide students with the opportunity to culminate their research in a cohesive and coherent manner

Learning outcomes

On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:
1.
Undertake independent research, including research activities including database/internet research, ethical research, primary and secondary analysis
2.
Apply secondary material and theory, and advanced creative/critical writing skills to an extended piece of writing
3.
Demonstrate the ability to communicate research skills and knowledge via oral and written communication/assessment
