This topic introduces students to lifespan development and care and rehabilitation from the perspectives of clinicians and service users. Students will explore the principles that underpin rehabilitation practice including client centred and culturally responsive practice and the rehabilitation process across the lifespan.

This topic aims to introduce students to development across the lifespan and the key principles of care and rehabilitation for allied health practice.

Describe foundational principles of holistic care, including appropriate models of care to support the life-course

Demonstrate an understanding of the systems and services which support individuals and families across the lifespan

Discuss the social, legal and ethical aspects of supporting the individual and family across the lifespan

Reflect and describe how one’s own culture influences lifespan development
