Aims

This topic aims to:

  • Provide students opportunities to practise their target language of study outside the classroom
  • Develop further students' skills in language proficiency at an advanced level
  • Give students an opportunity to undertake an independent field-based observational project in a chosen community or industry-based environment

Learning outcomes

On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:
1.
Design a project of professional or academic nature, specific to the placement environment, and in your language of study
2.
Justify your contribution to the placement provider, in your language of study, to different audiences
3.
Evaluate the effectiveness of your own intercultural experience in terms of language and culture
4.
Integrate your personal skills into the host organisation, in a manner that is beneficial for all parties involved

9 units of second year undergraduate level topics in French, Indonesian, Italian, Modern Greek or Spanish.
