Aims
The aim of this topic is:
- For students to gain foundational knowledge and skills to undertake health assessments and physical examinations of the woman, fetus and infant.
Learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

Demonstrate foundational clinical skills for midwifery practice
2.
Apply foundational knowledge of anatomy and physiology to the physical assessment of the woman, fetus, and infant across the childbearing continuum
3.
Apply the principles of woman-centred care, informed decision making and partnership in clinical contexts
4.
Demonstrate professional communication skills to work within a multidisciplinary team
5.
Apply foundational skills and knowledge of clinical processes, procedures, and results, including the use of digital health technologies, to inform clinical decision making and promote woman-centred care
