Aims
This topic aims to
- Analyse how anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and microbiology knowledge informs patient centred care
- Provide students with an opportunity to demonstrate appropriate clinical skills (including complex procedures) and expected knowledge in clinical practice
Learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:
1.
Demonstrate skills, knowledge and attitudes required by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, Registered Nurse Standards for Practice at the expected level for a third year, second semester student
2.
Demonstrate clinical reasoning and management of the nursing care needed to safely manage the fundamentals of care for clients in a variety of settings
3.
Consolidate the fundamental skills in medication safety including applying critical thinking and decision making to patient scenarios and evaluating the care provided
4.
Prepare for and engage in professional behaviours including, but not limited to, pre-placement clinical preparation
